To Every Mother Who Never Really Stopped Working

I got married at 30 to my partner Itamar. At 31, I became a mother to Ella. At 35, our second daughter Geffen arrived. And throughout all of it — the pregnancies, the births, the sleepless nights — I had a fully running business. A factory. Employees. Suppliers. Clients. Orders to fulfill.

Looking back now, I have one small regret: I didn't give myself a real maternity leave. Not even close.

But how could I? When you have a business that depends entirely on you — when there are people counting on you every single day — how do you just... stop? I was at the peak of my ambition. The business was growing faster than ever. Stopping felt impossible.

So I made smart decisions instead. Before Ella was born, I moved the studio to a street one minute's walk from our apartment. That single decision changed everything — I could pop home to nurse, be flexible with my hours, and still show up for my team. Itamar and I split everything — some mornings he covered, some mornings I did. We had two very enthusiastic grandmothers. And sometimes, I just brought the baby to the studio with me.

Were there hard moments? Absolutely. Nursing in the studio. Trying to answer emails with a baby on my lap. Bouncing a stroller with one foot during a supplier call.

You know what they call that? Superwoman.

And the funny thing is — there are so many of us. Doing exactly this, every single day, without anyone making a big deal out of it. Because that's just what we do. We figure it out. We show up. We keep going.

To every mother who built something while raising someone — this one's for you. Happy Mother's Day. 🤍
